# What Kind of API can I Monetize?
If you are monetizing on the platform, it is important that all of the content on your portal aligns with our Terms of Use (opens new window). The Terms of Use shall be applicable for any API or content that you intend to monetize. Anyone who wishes to monetize their API has the responsibility to ensure that the contents are appropriate. The following is a quick overview of our Terms of Use (opens new window), make sure you read each policy thoroughly before monetizing your API, to protect your rights and our rights.
# Legality
Before monetizing your API, please ensure that the contents are created by you, or you have obtained all rights, licenses, consents and permissions for using the content. You should have the legal right to use the content without any limitations. Some highlights from the policy:
- Every part of your content is an original work by you, or you have obtained all rights, licenses, consents and permissions necessary in order to use it on the platform.
- Your content and the availability thereof on the Platform does not and will not infringe or violate the rights of any third party.
- You have obtained any and all necessary consents, permissions and/or releases from any and all persons appearing in your content in order to use any personal data including their name, voice, performance or likeness.
- Your content does not and will not create any liability on the part of beNovelty Limited, its subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, and assigns, and their respective employees, agents, directors, officers and/or shareholders.
# Appropriateness
You have the responsibility of ensuring that the contents are appropriate. Your content shall be trustworthy and secure.
Your content must not be:
- unlawful, offensive, abusive, libelous, defamatory;
- racist, sexually explicit, ethnically or culturally offensive;
- obscene, indecent, promoting violence, terrorism, or illegal acts;
- inciting hatred on grounds of race, gender, religion or sexual orientation.
# Violation
If your content is judged to be violating and against our Terms of Use, the platform reserves the right to remove your content, suspend or terminate your access to the platform and/or pursue all legal remedies if we believe that any of your content breaches any of the foregoing representations or warranties, or otherwise infringes another person's rights or violates any law, rule or regulation.
If you violate any of our policies, the platform may take the actions below:
- Inform you by email when we have to enforce our policies
- Remove the API on the platform temporarily - the contents shall be clarified as appropriate to be shown on the platform again
- Suspend or permanently disable monetization feature for all or any of your portals
- Suspend or permanently disable your account
